Are you still breathing?

Yes! We are!

Accosting the tremor;
the water in its wrath;
and the carnage of the innocent

Like the beads of a necklace
Defying nature, combating brutality.

We starve for hunger
We live vexatious
But yes we are still breathing

Robbed off our tri-gems
Plagued our home with terror
Castigated our presence to the ball,
We triumph over our ascendancy.

A mere defeat on the ground
And we shall still breathe

A defeat in disguise -
A sign of unity shells our loss

Uniting us from the Heaven-on-earth to the High Mountains
From the Plateaus to the Plains
From the Valleys to the Sea
See! We are still breathing

From the temples to the church
And from the mosques to the bliss
We chorused the songs of the Green.

Enduring natural disasters
Facing calamities
Only death may take away our breath
And death occurs in solitude of the soul

We, the nation that breathes
We stand alive! Like the teeth of the comb!

  1. wow, simply awesome... you have truthfully and beautifully described the whole nation. i know there are some problems in us but we can fight them as we care for our motherland! One defeat can never break us but it will make us stronger.
    We are still the best.
    I loved this verse..

    And from the mosques to the bliss
    We chorused the songs of the Green."

  2. Such an inspirational poetry it is, there is a fuel in us which needs to be ignited with sparks. If not today we will definitely be succeed in future but what counts is struggle, the way we have put our efforts throughout the tournament must not be ignored. Remember the circumstances Pakistan in which our team was announced and that too without captain. You have just put everything so nicely defines the entire scenario Pakistani squad has gone through. Indeed we will rise from the ashes as long as we have people like you who despite in the lows of life become beacon of hope for the troubled nation. Good work Amina - I am inspired!

  3. @Bilal Thanks a bunch for your presence on my blog. I agree, just a little more unity, faith and tonnes of discipline is required to become an ideal nation :)...:p. We have the potential because we know how to stand up again on our feet even after serious setbacks and defeats.

    @Tanzeel Wow! Thanks so much for stopping by and writing your comment. I really appreciate that. I have read your posts and I always find them very mature and unique. Everyone needs a place in their life where they can go to escape the demands of family and work, enjoy some adult time and be free from the daily grind. Psychologists call it ‘the third space’ because most people spend the majority of their lives in two places – home and work. A third space provides a haven from these places of responsibility, where we can chill out and indulge our leisure interests. For me, my third space is my blog. It is without doubt the most important part of my world.

Somewhere faraway; As I sit to feel the silence, My thoughts are carried away by THE WHISPERS OF MY HEART!!
